Market Research

Our first Market Research initiative is the GATE Cultural Creatives Entertainment and Media Study to be developed and implemented by Paul H. Ray, Ph.D., co-author of the seminal research project and book, The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World (Harmony Books, 2000).

The study is intended to verify and validate the entertainment and media needs, habits and preferences of the more than 100 million Americans who qualify as Cultural Creatives.  The study is currently in the funding stage, with one sponsor already secured.  Once the funding process is complete, the study will commence.

Over the past 30 years Dr. Ray has headed research on over 100 major research and consulting projects, and written reports on them all. He was Chief of Policy Research on Energy Conservation, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources of the Government of Canada. There he headed the largest evaluation research project conducted in Canada, on Canada’s efforts at home energy conservation. He was previously Associate Professor of Urban Planning and a Faculty Associate of the Institute for Social Research, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Paul Ray received a BA, cum laude, in Anthropology from Yale University, and a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan.  Dr. Ray is a member of the GATE Leadership Council.
